Personality Disorder Treatment

Cluster B personality disorders include borderline, antisocial, histrionic, and narcissistic personality disorders. These disorders require specialized care from experienced professionals.

Dr. Joseph Santoro, co-founder of SLS and author of The Angry Heart (New Harbinger Publications, 1997), has developed a cognitive-behavioral program for people with borderline personality disorder. The Angry Heart therapy program uses group therapy, individual therapy, and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) training sessions to help those struggling with borderline personality disorder overcome their self-defeating behavior patterns and cope with their psychological trauma history (when present).

Our antisocial personality disorder/ narcissistic personality disorder program is based on the pioneering work of Dr. Stanton Samenow and the Truthought® therapy for correcting irresponsible thinking. The goal is to help those with antisocial thinking break the hold these thoughts have on their behavior and to replace them with responsible thought patterns and socially valued behaviors.

We are especially effective with young adults who have not been able to establish a normative lifestyle.

"Our BPD program combines "Angry Heart" therapy and DBT to help members overcome their self-defeating behaviors."
